These are some pics from a field trip the school did. We went to a Buddhist temple, Mount Chokai, and to the Ocean to see carved Buddha statues in the rocks. It was awesome!
Here’s some party pics. Mostly I was just in the moment and not taking too many pics but here’s a few decent ones. I’m especially glad that I ran into the kitty. Not 10 seconds before running into her Sang Hee and I were talking to someone who was looking for a cat to feed. They have the funniest little tails that curve at the end into little puffs instead of just being straight like regular cats.
Here’s some random shopping pictures. I should’ve taken a picture of the drinks section. For some reason they don’t sell anything in large sizes. The biggest thing of juice I could find was like 800 mls for 300 yen.
These are the souvenirs I’ve bought so far. All from Village Vanguard. Nozomi described it as “A store designed specifically for wasting time” and that’s about what it is. Like I said in an earlier post it’s cool but also full of many bizarre and stupid things. These are just some of the better items.
Here’s some pictures from the shopping I did today. First thing we did was go out to a ramen shop and get something to eat. The way you order in the store is to go up to a vending machine and buy tickets for the type of ramen, toppings, and drinks you want and then you give the tickets to one of the cooks.
The funny and creepy items are from Village Vanguard. I’ll be shopping there a lot for knick-knacks since they have a nice variety of awesome and retarded things. Pot related stuff will likely stop being funny soon enough but there’s always something new to see. I’m especially amused by the horrifying Disney things. Chip and Dale look like they go high during a zombie attack. It’s also pretty funny how in Japan you’re not supposed to kiss in public but they have no problems with a poster of people having sex in a bathroom.
These are just some random shots in between fireworks starting and the trip back. Me and a few other people went off to get some ramen in a ramen shop. The place we sat had not chairs so we sat on cushions and ate a knee high table.
The cars are just there because they’re amusing. It’s funny walking through traffic because you see cars like that coming at you and it just feels like they’d just give you a scrape at worst.
Mieko was the one who did most of the organizing for the trip and led us all around. She’s awesome.
